Mertz - Sunglasses Collection. 

The Mertz sunglasses channel the uncompromising spirit of 1980s German eyewear design — bold, squared-off, and built with undeniable presence. Thick temples, sharp edges, and clean architectural lines give this frame a confident silhouette that feels both vintage and strikingly modern.

We first uncovered the original inspiration in a dusty Berlin backroom filled with forgotten stock, worn hinges, and abandoned frames from decades past. Brutal, bold, and full of authentic 80s character, it had the kind of attitude we knew deserved a second life.

For the OD rework, we softened the harsher angles, introduced subtle curves through the lenses, and refined the proportions to create a more balanced everyday fit. The result is a statement square-frame sunglass that keeps its industrial edge while feeling elevated and wearable. Crafted from premium Mazzucchelli acetate with organic plastic UV-protective lenses, Mertz is vintage German design reframed for now.
