Diego - Tortoise Blue

£135.00
Color: Champaign Brown

Diego is a bold, vintage-inspired frame reworked from 60s Safety Series sunglasses into a refined, modern silhouette.

All Oscar Deen  frames are made from Mazzucchelli acetate. They're Italian and have been top of the game since 1849. While our lenses are made from organic plastic. A combination of light-weight and optical clarity

We weren’t about to spend all this time creating bespoke frames to then dash them in some off the shelf case.

The OD case is made in collaboration with London based leather artisan and mate, Otis Ingrams.

Each one is hand made from 2 pieces of recycled composite leather, 4 brass rivets and one brass stud.

Rediscover
Born in the ’60s, during the rise of the Safety Series - the same wave that gave us icons like the Wayfarer and Clubmaster. Back then, names like American Optical and Norton ruled the scene. The brands may have faded, but the silhouettes? Still stealing glances.

Revive
We tracked this one to Naples - loud, fast, full of charm (and mopeds). Found it in a cluttered back-alley shop run by Paulo, who we accidentally woke from a nap. He wasn’t thrilled. Still sold us the frames.

ReframeWe kept the strong American browline, then gave it a European upgrade - crowned the top, dropped the lugs, softened the edges. 60s grit, with a touch of class.

Born in ’60s America, these frames came out of the Safety Series era - the same scene that gave us the Wayfarer and Clubmaster. Built tough for the day job, now worn for the afterparty. The brands may have slipped into the past, but the attitude stuck around.

We named this one Diego before we’d even found it. Naples was the muse - loud, sun-soaked, running on spirit and street smarts. Mid-August, melting, we ducked into a backstreet shop stacked with dust and gold. Woke Paulo up from a nap. He wasn’t thrilled - but he had the goods.

We kept the bold American browline, gave it a new crown, dropped the lugs, and smoothed the edges. Still has that 60s swagger - just sharper round the edges
