Diego - Tortoise Blue

£135.00
Color: Tortoise Blue

Diego is a bold, vintage-inspired frame reworked from 60s Safety Series sunglasses into a refined, modern silhouette.

All Oscar Deen  frames are made from Mazzucchelli acetate. They're Italian and have been top of the game since 1849. While our lenses are made from organic plastic. A combination of light-weight and optical clarity

We weren’t about to spend all this time creating bespoke frames to then dash them in some off the shelf case.

The OD case is made in collaboration with London based leather artisan and mate, Otis Ingrams.

Each one is hand made from 2 pieces of recycled composite leather, 4 brass rivets and one brass stud.

Rediscover:
Born in the 60s. Part of the Safety Series movement – the same wave that sparked legends like the Wayfarer and Clubmaster. Back then, brands like American Optical and Norton were running the game. They might’ve faded, but the shapes? Still turning heads.

Revive:
Naples gave us the name before we found the frame. A proper city - loud, bold, full of heart (and mopeds). We uncovered this one in a back-alley shop stacked with trinkets, run by the unforgettable Paulo - who we accidentally woke from a nap. He wasn’t thrilled. Still sold us the frames though.

Reframe:

We’ve taken that strong American browline and given it a European upgrade. Crowned the top, dropped the lugs, softened the silhouette. Still tough, but with a little more class. From 60s grit to modern-day charm.

Born in 60s America, these frames were part of the Safety Series – the same scene that gave us icons like the Wayfarer and Clubmaster. Heavy-duty shapes built to last, originally made for graft, now repping style over spec. The brands might’ve faded, but the vibes stuck around.

We named this one Diego before we even found it. Naples was the muse - all noise, charm, and chaos. A city that runs on street smarts and spirit. We were melting in the August heat when we stumbled into a backstreet shop full of forgotten treasures. Woke Paulo up from a nap. He wasn’t pleased - but he had the goods.

We’ve taken that solid, sweeping browline and given it a new crown. Dropped the lugs, smoothed the edges, and let a bit of elegance in. Still got that 60s attitude - just with a sharper suit.
